Reflection on Syllabus


            In this AICE Media Studies course, there are several things that I personally am looking forward to. I want to grow to be confident in the way that I apply my common knowledge and skills to situations that are being presented to me. I would also like to work on improving my critical thinking skills in this course. Reaching a high level of mastery on every subject in this course will come to my advantage when working with my partner and creating content. These skills will ultimately aide me in successfully creating my magazine.

        However, there are things I am personally nervous about going into this course. The language makes me worry about how far ahead I am with breaking down information to make a detailed analysis on it. Creating content the correct way and following the guidelines to actually pass. I also am nervous about passing the exam because of my own doubts of my abilities. I do hope to gain more knowledge about how media and film works and is portrayed in society which makes me very excited to be participating in this course

Camera shots

In film, there are multiple variations of film. I am going to be choosing six different camera shots which include: establishing shot, wide shot, close-up shot, master shot, mid-shot, and over the shoulder shot. Establishing shot: This shot show casts the scene in a zoomed out way which illustrates the relationship between the characters and their settings.   Wide shot: This shot shows the entire character or object and is wider in its frame. Close-up shot: This shot usually focuses on getting the face of an object or character and its purpose is to add emotion. Master shot: This shot is utilized to portray the most dramatized scenes in the film.   Mid-shot: This shot only shows the character from the waist up and is the most common shot.
